Julia’s heroic effort has grown considerably beyond a battle to simply save Luna. She has become a galvanizing force in a final push to protect all of our last ancient forests. Similar perhaps to Rosa Parks who refused to go to the back of the bus and ignited the civil rights movement, Julia’s humility, courage and spirit are captivating and inspiring a larger and larger audience world wide

Julia’s struggle against the Goliath Maxxam exemplifies our struggle against corporations worldwide. The single-minded focus on quick profits precludes concerns about the environment and long-term economic stability. To the corporate mind, ancient redwoods are just under-utilized assets to be "liquidated," a means of throwing off cash flow and servicing debt. As a democratic populace we need to take back the control we’ve handed to corporations and we need to do it now, before the life support systems which nature provides fall apart all together.
