Nice to finally see the finished Foundation Roots 2010 Kits. They look great, are comfortable and stand out. I shot the Cat 5 race and 45+. Went home and did a mountain bike ride. Returned and shot the Pro race and so there are over 150 photos from Mothballs.

At Long Last – A Site Revision

At long last a revision has taken place. With the popularity of Wordpress, I decided to dive in and see what the excitement was about. Goodman Graphic now has a blog. How cool is that? I’m liking the update and the new tools and happy to have migrated to the WP platform.

The End of an Era

Since the summer of 2004 I had raced mountain bikes exclusively for a brand new team in town named Platinum. I met Todd Booth that year while I was leading my division for the title in the CA State Series. I offered to build a team website when we spoke about the new team and later help structure the team and design the team kit. Each year we set goals for the team, usually the California State Series which we won the Coed Division title each season.

The time was just right for our team, with few local teams considering racing mountain bikes… The same folks who dismissed mountain bikes at the time are now racing and riding more off road. Just goes to show….Go your own way and ignore the choir. We did, with the Platinum Team, and outlasted the 1-2 year expected life of the team.

In 2009, I personally felt it was time for a change. The team had won the CA State Series multiple times and almost every event was covered in mbaction.com. I had helped promote the team in photos and inspired others to submit race coverage. We were on the map in the media and we had great success due to the exceptional racing talent on the team.

During 2009 Goodman Graphic began the process of deciding future sponsorship of the Platinum Team. I had policy disagreements that just ran counter to the new direction of the team and too much time was involved for me at this time. I decided it was time for a hiatus until a new and fresh program could be started.

In 2010 Goodman Graphic will be sponsoring the Foundation Roots Team. Look for us in blue…..and supported by: FRS, Hazards, Solid Rock Construction, Elite Performance, Wasserman Media Group, Santa Barbara Running, Blueline Paddlesurf, All Wheel Sports Productions, Off the Front Training and Oakley. The new multisport team is headed by Peter Park and we are proudly supporting Livestrong. We all look forward to riding and racing with this exciting new team.

A permanent Platinum Team Archive has been made and I want to thank all our sponsors for a great 5+ years of support.
